Steve Jobs’ first boss was Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari. In Steve Jobs the book about the late Apple CEO’s life, Walter Isaacson discusses Jobs’ time working for Bushnell and how, after arguments and general dislike for Steve Jobs among other employees, Bushnell asked Jobs to instead work nights. It was a move that allowed Jobs to stay on staff and keep employees happy.

Bushnell covers the lessons he learned from that experience, and others, in his new book Finding The Next Steve Jobs: How to Find, Hire, Keep and Nurture Creative Talent. The book covers how Bushnell was able to find and hire great minds, such as Steve Jobs, at Atari and how he managed to keep them working there.

The AP said the book doesn’t cover much of Jobs’ life at the company but rather Bushnell’s management techniques and what he learned running a successful start up company … including allowing employees to take naps, among other perks. Finding The Next Steve Jobs: How to Find, Hire, Keep and Nurture Creative Talent is available now and is in stock at Amazon for $11.
